Yosemite High’s standout softball player Lynette Combs has been named to the county squad for the 35th Annual City/County All Star Softball game to be played at 7 p.m., June 15, at Fresno State’s Bulldog Diamond.
Combs, a senior, led the Badgers in hitting this season with a torrid .516 batting average with 23 hits including six doubles, three triples and a home run. She scored 15 runs and lead the team in RBIs with nine. She struck out just four times with 64 at-bats in 24 games.
Combs was recently named the Offensive MVP of the team and was named first team All League by the North Sequoia League.
Junior catcher Katie Thompson was named Defensive MVP, and was named to the All League second team.
Thompson also had a good season, batting .375 with 16 hits including two doubles and three triples. She scored 10 runs and had seven RBIs in 21 games. She struck out just five times in 56 at bats on the season.
A third player, sophomore Amaya Chenot, was also selected to the All League second team.
