Yosemite High School’s summer volleyball camps will begin June 23, with classes ranging from fourth grade to seniors in high school.
The first camp, a setter’s camp, will be held 1 - 5 p.m., June 23-25, and cost $40 per player. Opposites and hitters that play the right side will benefit from the camp, YHS coaches said.
A full camp for sophomores to senior volleyball players in the 2016-2017 season will be held from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., July 11 - 13, at a cost of $200 includes a t-shirt. Shay Goulding Meurer, currently working with the volleyball team at Pepperdine University, will provide instruction throughout the camp.
For younger players (fourth through ninth grade), a similar camp will be held 9 a.m. - 3 p.m., July 14-16, at a cost of $100 per player. The camp will include instruction on team skills, individual skills, discussion of defense and offense systems, and games, drills, and scrimmages.
Conditioning camps will be held 9 - 10:30 a.m., July 18, 20, 22, 25, 27, and 29.
YHS volleyball team tryouts will be held 9 a.m. - 12:30 p.m., Aug. 1 and 3.
