YHS Youth Cheer

Yosemite Badgers Youth Cheer is now accepting registration for the 2016 season. Student athletes of all skill levels, grades kindergarten - eighth are invited to try-out. Teams will be selected by coaching staff, and based on age and performance.

Try-outs will be held 6 - 8 p.m., May 17 - 19, at Coarsegold Elementary. Athletic clothing and tennis shoes are required try-outs.

There is a $30 registration fee.

Bass Lake Paddle Palooza

A benefit for the American Cancer Society, Paddle Palooza, will take place at 9 a.m. Saturday, May 7, at Bass Lake Boat Rentals adjacent to Ducey’s on the Lake. The event offers more than $1,000 in prize money.

The event will feature races for single occupant kayak, double occupant kayak, double occupant canoe, and four age divisions for stand-up paddle boards ) ages 11 and under, 12-18, 19-49, vintage - 50+).

Participants will race on a mile course (shorter for children) for all events.

Winners of each division will receive $100, with runner-ups receiving $50.

The Bass Lake Lions Club and the Yosemite High School Leos club will assist with the event.

Come on out and paddle the day away, rain or shine. Winners and prizes announced after lunch.

Registration fee includes the events you are age-eligible for as well as lunch (burger, fries and drink). Pre-registration can be done online by forwarding registration form to our email and calling with a credit card, and costs $10 less.

Life vests are available and required. There are a limited number of paddle boards, kayaks and canoes for rent for the event. Pre-registration is available for $25 an event, and $35 the day of the palooza.

Students ages 18 and under are $12.50 for each event.
