YHS ties Kerman for top spot in league tennis

Thanks to strong play from the North Sequoia League’s top player Steven Standefer, the Yosemite High School boys tennis team (6-5, 6-1 NSL) is tied for first place in league with Kerman after two victories last week.

On Tuesday, April 12, Yosemite bested the Hawks of Liberty-Madera Ranchos 5-4, then topped Kerman 7-2 the next day at home.

Standefer, undefeated in NSL play, is 10-1 on the year. The team’s top doubles team, Standefer and Burke Stewart, is undefeated on the season and 11-0 overall.

The team faces Washington Union at home 3:30 p.m. Thursday, April 21.
