Former Yosemite High School Badger standout Jayson Lee has received a football scholarship to Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, where he will study electrical engineering.
Lee was a varsity starter in football, basketball and track at YHS as a freshman and sophomore and was named to the North Sequoia League first team all-league football team on both offense and defense. He was also named the NSL’s undergraduate outstanding football player of the year.
Lee moved to Fresno and attended Clovis North where he started on the Clovis North Bronco football team as a junior and senior as running back, and safety/linebacker.
Last year, Lee, the son of Jim and Sheri Lee, was the only junior to make the Tri River Athletic Conference first team all-conference team.
This year, he was named Bronco player of the year, an award that goes to the best football player/student on the team. Lee carries a 4.0 GPA with four AP classes.
In addition, he was again all-conference and named co-defensive player of the year in the TRAC along with Caleb Kelley who is going to Oklahoma.
Lee has been selected to play in both the City-County All Star football game June 17, at Clovis High, and the North-South Rotary All Star game June 24, at Veteran’s Stadium in Merced.
