The Yosemite High basketball team (18-8, 6-2 North Sequoia League) gave its home crowd plenty to be excited about Wednesday night with a down-to-the-wire 42-40 win over Washington Union (9-18, 4-4 NSL).
Tristan Eames scored 17 points and Kade Cross had 11 points, 10 rebounds, and four blocked shots on the night for the Badgers. Peter McLean added seven points and grabbed nine rebounds.
While Yosemite was edging Union, Kerman remained undefeated in league (8-0) blowing by Chowchilla 79-47.
The Badger JV team also beat Union 56-52, after being down 10 points in the first half.
Yosemite’s Caleb Eicholtz had nine points and six assists.
The Badgers are playing at Chowchilla Friday and end league play Feb. 17 at Kerman.
The CIF Central Section playoff seedings will be announced Feb. 20. Yosemite is currently ranked as the No. 10 team in D-IV.
