Minarets 4-0 in league play

After some early season communication problems, Coach Jessica Carter’s Minarets volleyball team (20-4, 4-0 West Sequoia League) has gone 13-1 in its last 14 games, and leads the league.

On Oct. 13, the Mustangs continued their drive for back-to-back league titles by easily beating Parlier (1-13, 0-3 WSL) in three sets (25-9, 25-15, 25-12).

Hannah Cockerham was selected “Player of the Game” by coach Carter.

On Oct. 15, the Mustangs overpowered Riverdale (7-8, 1-3) in three sets (25-14, 25-14, 25-6). Senior Patrichia Thomasian was “Player of the Game" for her outstanding defensive play. Thomasian leads the team in many defensive categories, playing varsity ball since her freshman year, Thomasian has a chance of making the All-League team this year.

Minarets plays Fresno Christian (5-15, 3-5), and Caruthers (9-12, 2-1) this week.
