The Yosemite High School varsity volleyball team (20-8) hit the 20-win milestone on the road Oct. 1, with a four-set win over Kingsburg.
The Badgers won the first two sets, 25-14, 25-18, with Kingsburg winning the third set, 25-22. The Badgers won the fourth set and the match, 25-21.
Sophomore Savanagh Bohna had double-digit kills for points with 10.
Karee Smith contributed eight kills with three blocks, Dainya Debock added six kills with two aces, Kailei Gould added seven kills with four aces and 19 defensive digs. Hannah Hurtado led those defensive efforts with 23 digs, while Tiffany Cacy added 18 digs along with 33 assists. Rachel Loveland had four kills with two blocks, and Autumn Mitchell had 14 digs.
“We played well, and I’m proud of how the girls are doing,” Coach Michel chenowith said afrter the match.
The team opened North Sequoia League play against Kerman High School Tuesday and are at Liberty-Madera Ranchos today (Thursday) for a 6 p.m. league contest. Results from the game with Kerman were unavailable by press time.
