Jones is River Creek club champ

For the second year in a row, Jenny Jones of Oakhurst has won the River Creek Women’s Golf Club Championship. The three day event, consisting of 54 holes of stroke play, was played on Sept. 10, 15, and 17.

Jones was determined the winner by her total gross score for all 54 holes. Her three 18-hole rounds were 90, 87, and 100 for a total gross score for the three days of 277.

Betty Day of Ahwahnee was awarded the prize for being the winner of the total low net score (221) for the three days.

During the three days of golf, chip-ins were made by Loretta Fairband, Sue Mejica, and Doris Pasley.

Barb Hamilton of Mariposa had the only birdie of the tournament.
