Bloom Run

The sixth annual Mountain Area Bloom Run will be held at 8 a.m., Saturday, April 18, at the Yosemite Lakes Park Clubhouse. The event features a two-mile fun walk, 5K trail run, and 10K trail and road run.

Pre-registration fees are $30 for all running events, and $25 for the two-mile fun walk. Family discount registration fees are available. Race day registration will be held 6:30 a.m., at slightly higher rates. All proceeds benefit Rivergold Elementary School’s physical education programs.

Bass Lake Fishing Derby

Applications are now available for the 2015 Annual Bass Lake Fishing Derby. The Derby will be held Saturday and Sunday May 2-3, at Bass Lake. The $55,000 tournament will include 150 trout worth $100 each, and 847 trout worth $20 and three grand prize fish worth a combined $25,000 - one worth $5,000 and two worth $10,000.

Registration is $25 per person and $60 per family (family registration limited to husband and wife and up to three children under the age of 16). All participants must have a valid California Drivers License. Children under 16 are not required to have a license.

In order to qualify for prizes participants must be registered with the Bass Lake Fishing Derby prior to catching. Participants must register by 9 a.m. Saturday, May 2, 2015 and pick up their wristband at any of the three Fishing Derby Headquarters - The Forks Resort, Millers Landing, or Bass Lake Boat Rentals. Participants can validate their registration at Derby Headquarters on Derby Day(s).

Golf Tournament

An 18-hole scramble golf tournament will be held Thursday, April 30 at the River Creek Golf Course in Ahwahnee. Tee-off is at 9 a.m. and the cost of the tournament is $10 for entry and an additional $10 for lunch. The tournament is open to men and woman who have established a handicap.
