Sports Briefs - Week of 4/9/15

Guest Day Tournament

River Creek Women’s Club will host a Guest Day Tournament, 18 hole scramble, Thursday, April 30. Tee time is 9 a.m., and the tournament is open to anyone with a handicap. Entry fee of $10; green and cart fees for non-members $35. There will be a longest drive contest and closest to the pin contest. Optional pizza and salad lunch is available for $10.

Guns & Hoses

A Slow Pitch Softball Tournament will be held 9 a.m.- 4 p.m., Saturday, April 11, at the Yosemite High School softball fields. Participants include Oakhurst CHP and Madera County Sheriff’s Department, Cal Fire (Coarsegold), Madera County Fire Department, and YHS alumni.

Free admission and free parking. This is a fundraiser to benefit the YHS Badger softball program.

Baseball Easter Classic

The Yosemite High School baseball team (5-10, 1-4 NSL) closed out the annual Easter Classic baseball tournament in Fresno losing 10-0 to Clovis North. The Badgers finished the tournament 0-4 losing to Reedley, Fresno, Golden Valley and Clovis North. The Badgers will play at Liberty against the Hawks Friday, April 10.
