Yosemite High shuts out Mariposa, 30-0

Fresno

The Yosemite High Varsity Football team recorded their second straight shut out by defeating Sac-Joaquin Section rival Mariposa 30-0 Friday night in Oakhurst.

YHS is undefeated in 2019 at 4-0. The defense has not allowed a score in 10 straight quarters. Mariposa is now 1-2 overall.

YHS senior running back Nic Harper scored three rushing touchdowns and quarterback Jaydn Carter threw for another. But it was the YHS defense that proved the difference. The Badger defense stymied Grizzly drives deep into YHS territory all night.

The Yosemite JV (1-2) lost to Mariposa 24-6. The Grizzlies (2-1) led 24-0 going into the fourth quarter. YHS managed to avoid a shutout when quarterback Rodney Von Wagner connected on an 80-yard touchdown to Antonio Conti.
