Yosemite High School’s boys tennis team clinched another undefeated regular season (11-0) and the program’s fifth consecutive North Sequoia League title.

The Badgers were dominant in all eight of their league matchups, with none of their opponents winning more than one game. Last week, the Badgers players won first, second, third and sixth place at the North Sequoia League singles tournament.

The Badgers’ dominance is a repeat of last season, when the team also went undefeated and took home the first Central Section Division III championship in school history.

This year, the boys will look to repeat as champions with six of the eight players from last season’s postseason run: Tyler Hellwig, Colby Stewart, Ethan Conti, Logan Cacey, Kai Hansen and Henry Curley. The section has not announced the playoff seeding or dates, but Yosemite is confirmed to be one of the nine teams that qualified.

Yosemite is coached by Steven Standefer, who is only two years removed from playing on the team during deep section playoff runs. The young coach has wasted no time proving himself on the sideline, with the team yet to lose a match with him as coach.
