Yosemite High senior swimmer Samantha Rockey made her final North Sequoia League meet one to remember.

Rockey broke the 11-year-old school record – the oldest on the Yosemite books – in the 200-yard individual medley, finishing second in 2 minutes 21.66 seconds. Kari Lauterbach set the previous record of 2:23.60 in 2007.

Two of Rockey’s strongest events over the past two years have been the 100 breaststroke and the 500 free. This year she worked on technique and timing for the butterfly. One area Rockey improved in over the past years is her ability to become mentally stronger entering a big meet.
