Elizabeth McDaniel died July 28, 2016 at the age of 68. She was born Nov. 24, 1947 in Madera to Willard and Jewel.
A teacher for more than 30 years, she finished her teaching career at the Bass Lake Unified School District. She was also a lay minister in the Methodist Church for the last 10 years, giving sermons at Methodist churches in Mariposa and Oakhurst.
Mrs. McDaniel loved the arts, dance and music, was an international traveler and avid reader, loved children and helping others.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Mrs. McDaniel is survived by her husband of 29 years, Jim Hubbard; son Dustin of Raymond; sisters Grace Lohman and husband Werner of Marathon, Florida, Lorene Williams and husband Lyle of Alberta, Canada, Hope Campbell and husband Rick of San Diego; brothers Merlin and wife Cathy of Medford, and Ted and wife Pat of Minot, North Dakota; and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held 11 a.m., Oct. 14, at the New Community Methodist Church in Oakhurst.
Remembrances can be made in her name to the New Community Methodist Church in Oakhurst, to charity of choice.
