Donald Hugh Williams died June 14, 2016 at the age of 97. He was born Dec. 29, 1918 in Sanger to Lester and Anna (Barringer).
Mr. Williams served in the U.S. Army, and was deployed in Oct. 1942 to the South Pacific Theater. Following his discharge, he started a propane business, Williams Butane Service, and in 1957, moved his business to the Mountain Area, operating Mountain Gas Company for more than 30 years.
He acquired a real estate broker’s license, and was also a certified appraiser and notary business. He was a member of the Masonic Center Sierra Lodge, as well as various real estate and Madera County planning organizations.
Mr. Williams was known for his ability to attract hummingbirds.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter Julie Anna, his brother Lester, and sisters Mildred Darknell Goen, Lilian Madsen and Lorraine Phillips.
He is survived by his sister, Betty Ann (Wayne) Jensen, and his daughters Sandi Brown and husband Alan, and Trish Bastien and husband Bill; six grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, two great great granchildren, and nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at Lisle Funeral Home, 1605 “L” Street, Fresno. Visitation will take place 3-7 p.m., June 23, with the funeral 11 a.m., June 24.
