Jerry Tobin died Feb. 2, 2016 at the age of 69.
Born in Visalia and raised in the Big Creek area, he was a long-time Ahwahnee resident, and retired after a 30-year career as a general contractor.
Mr. Tobin was a 1964 graduate of Sierra High School, and attended Reedley Community College.
He was a member of the U.S. Army as a helicopter mechanic and served his country in Vietnam.
His life-long passion was building hot rods and restoring classic cars, and he enjoyed camping, boating, and fishing at Mammoth Pool.
Survivors include two brothers, Wally Tobin of Redinger Lake, and Keith Tobin II of Florida, and three sisters, Deborah Barnheart of Reedley, Nancy Gelenaw of Auberry, and Brenda Spence of Coarsegold.
A celebration of life will be held noon, April 30, in the cafeteria at Sierra High School, 33220 Lodge Road, Tollhouse.
