Dick L. McCleod died March 24, 2016 at the age of 80. He was born in Pampa, Texas to Thomas H. and Pauline, and was Wasco High School class of 1954 valedictorian.
A Coarsegold resident for 16 years, he served in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict, graduated from Fresno State University in 1961, and taught elementary school in Kings and Tulare counties his retirement.
Mr. McCleod was preceded in death by his parents, sister Joanne Wilcox, and brother-in-law, Raymond Wilcox.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years Rosemary (Mazzeo); children Perry McCleod and Paula Covert of Sacramento, Marta of Fresno, Matthew and wife, Alicia, of Riverside; brother Tom of Bakersfield; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
A memorial Mass will be held 10:30 a.m., April 22, at Our Lady of the Sierra Catholic Church in Oakhurst. Attendees are asked to wear spring colors.
