Karl Eugene Aube died March 1, 2016 at the age of 78. He was born Sept. 9, 1937 in Michigan to Eugene and Mary.
Mr. Aube retired from PG&E in 2005, relocating to Coarsegold. He was past president of N. Oakland/Emeryville Rotary, was a member of the Oakhurst Elks, and the Griswold Mountain Detachment of the Marine Corps League.
He served in the U.S. Navy as an engineer for three years, and eight years in the U.S. Naval Reserves. He also served as naval gunfire liaison with the USMC.
Mr. Aube was an avid sailor, racing in the San Francisco Bay for more than 25 years, cruised Mexico, and enjoyed traveling.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by Linda, his wife of 49 years; and his daughter, Bridget of the Bay Area.
A memorial service will be held 11 a.m., April 2, at Christ Church Anglican in Oakhurst. An interment will take place 12:30 p.m., April 22, at the Bakersfield National Cemetery.
