Dorothy O’Neal Sherman died Feb. 20, 2016 at the age of 94. She was born Jan. 25, 1922 to Spencer and Hazel O’Neal.
Mrs. Sherman grew up on the O’Neals ranch in O’Neals, and worked as a Fresno County social worker in the 1950s. She was an active member of the Fresno Chapter of the California Young Democrats, meeting Eleanor Roosevelt, Harry Truman, and Adlai Stevenson. She was also active with the Mono Nation.
Mrs. Sherman was preceded in death by her husbands Ralph Pruett, Andre Goosev, and Kendrick Sherman; her parents; and her older sisters, Catherine and Mickie.
She is survived by one niece, three nephews, and her extended family within the Mono Nation.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
