Robert Wayne King, died Jan. 22, 2016, at the age of 83. He was born March 31, 1932 in Madera to Robert and Gladys.
Mr. King graduated from Madera High School in 1951, and was employed as director of maintenance for Gottschalks for 30 years.
A Coarsegold resident, he served as president of the North Fork Chamber of Commerce, and the Madera County Chamber. He also served on the Madera Transportation Authority.
Upon his retirement, he pursued his passion for photography. He also enjoyed backpacking and fishing in the Sierra.
Mr. King was preceded in death by his parents, and by his sister, Ruth LaMattina.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Margaret; his sons, Michael and Kenneth, both of Oakhurst; and two grandsons.
A celebration of life will be held 2-5 p.m., Feb. 5, at the Yosemite Lakes Park clubhouse.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name to the Alzheimer’s Association or Optimal Hospice.
