Lois Avonne Schneider died July 15, 2015 at the age of 90. She was born Dec. 11, 1924 in Hanford to Antonio Filveira and Ethel Violo O’Brien.
A Fresno resident most of her life, Mrs. Schneider enjoyed passing on cooking tips, sewing, reading, writing family histories, and spending time with family and friends. She was also an accomplished poker player, and archived the history of the Volga Germans from Russia.
Mrs. Schneider is survived by her children, Mike and Gloria, Roger and Nancy, Sue and Randy Graham, and Tim and Sally; nine grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild; her sister Anne; and nieces.
A viewing was held at Farewell Funeral Chapel on Monday, with a memorial service the following day. Remembrances can be made in her name to Evangel Home.
