Donn Donnelly died June 5, 2015, at the age of 86. He was born Aug. 7, 1928 in San Luis Obispo. He was an Oakhurst resident for 50 years, and lived in Fresno the last 10 years.
In 1961, he opened the first auto parts store in Oakhurst - Mountain Auto Parts - which also sold motorcycles and was a service shop. In 1974, he opened Road and Sport Foreign Auto Parts, where he worked until he retired in 1995. He started the Oakhurst Hillbilly’s Motorcycle Club, and the Class and Antique Motorcycle Association. He was a volunteer firefighter in the 1960s, and belonged to the Central California Classic Cycle Club, and the Norton BSA Trumph Motorcycle Club; the Edsel Falcon, and T-bird auto clubs.
Mr. Donnelly enjoyed vintage motorcycle and car restoration, guns, fishing, and living in the mountains.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Billie.
He is survived by his children, Steve and wife Jennifer of Madera Ranchos, Diane of Fresno, David and wife Barbara of Fresno; sisters Jeanne Jensen and Diana Lopez; nine grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be held 2 p.m., June 29, at the Oakhill Cemetery in Oakhurst.
