Myrtle Mae Carter died March 18, 2015 at the age of 90. She was born in Salina, Kansas, Jan. 8, 1925.
A Mountain Area resident for 18 years, she was a budget analyst for the U.S. Navy. She enjoyed needle point, travel, reading, pulling pranks, and wearing the color purple.
Mrs. Carter is survived by her son, James (Larry) and wife Tammy, daughter Karen; grandchildren Shannon Gutka, James Lance and Joshua Levi Carter; and five great grandchildren.
A memorial service was held March 25 at Oakhill Cemetery.
