Aileen Davis died March 20, 2015 at the age of 95.
She was born to parents Percy and Lettie Dresser in Porterville.
Mrs. Davis graduated from Lindsay High School in 1937 and attended Fresno State University for two years before transferring to UC Berkeley where she graduated in 1941 with a degree in business administration.
She worked at several accounting firms in the Bay Area and met her future husband, Byron Davis, while they were both worked at California Packing Company (Del Monte Foods).
The Davis’ were married June 14, 1947.
Upon her husband’s retirement in 1977, the two built their home in Oakhurst and lived there ever since.
Mrs. Davis enjoyed traveling and was active in various Mountain Area organizations including the Oakhurst Friends of the Library and Reach to Recovery. She was an avid bridge player and founding member of the Oakhurst Bridge Club which she played in for 35 years. She was also a founding member of the Memoir Writing Class.
Mrs. Davis is survived by her husband of 67 years, her sons, Grant of Prather, and George and his wife Carol of Auberry, her grandchildren James and Sarah of Lincoln, Neb., and Melinda of Portland, Ore., and a great-grandchild.
A memorial service will be held at a later date
