Bill Barber, of Ahwahnee, died Dec. 18, 2014 at the age of 81. He was born to Mary Lou and Coles in Catlesssburg, Kentucky on July 30, 1933.
Mr. Barber graduated from Hollywood High School, and served in the U.S. Air Force in 1953-1957. He then worked as an electrical contractor for 29 years.
In his free time, he enjoyed riding dirt bikes, snow skiing, playing tennis, water skiing, and playing golf. He also spent time on his boat fishing in the Channel Islands.
Mr. Barber is preceded in death by his parents, and his sister, Patsy.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Dee; his children, Guy (Oxnard), Michael and spouse Vickie (Canyon Country), and Bret and spouse Jan(Indianapolis, Ind); seven grandchildren, Cheyenne, Kassi, Melissa, Amanda, Chase, Kirk and Darren; and four great grandchildren.
A memorial Mass will be held 10 a.m., Monday, Dec. 29, at Our Lady of the Sierra Catholic Church in Oakhurst.
In lieu of flowers, gifts in his name can be sent to the American Cancer Society.
