William Durward Bentley died Dec. 11, 2014 at the age of 87. The Coarsegold resident was born Aug. 31, 1927 to William Wesley and Hallie in Texas.
Mr. Bentley retired from Santa Fe Railroad 20 years ago, and enjoyed making jewelry. After retirement, he helped in the design and construction of Sierra Pines Church in Oakhurst.
Mr. Bentley is preceded in death by his parents, his brother Porter, and wives Viola Chumley and Ann Bertelsen.
He is survived by his sister Alma Allene Crisler and spouse Chris of San Antonio, Texas; stepson Shawn Mesa; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service was held Dec. 20 at the Sierra Pines Church.
