Ronald S. Naus, of Yosemite Lakes Park, died May 31, 2014, at the age of 47.
Naus, the president of B-K Lighting in Madera, was born January 1967 in San Jose,. and was raised on Long Island, N.Y. and spent his formative years in McHenry, Ill. He graduated from McHenry High School in 1986.
He attended Illinois State University, majoring in Political Science and participated on the debate team. His first job in the lighting industry was with Big Beam Emergency Systems, Inc. in Crystal Lake, IL and went on to become the principle of Silver State Lighting in Las Vegas, NV.
In 2001, Naus joined the B-K Lighting team as sales manager. Within six months he was promoted to sales and marketing manager. 2006 he was elevated to executive vice president and appointed president in 2012.
He was an expert in all aspects of lighting, and was active with Illuminating Engineering Society - Fresno-Yosemite Section, the steering committee for LightFair International and the International Association of Lighting Designers. He was the IALD Educational Trust Director for two years and served as its treasure prior. He was the current president of the IALD Educational Trust Fund.
He was involved in his sons’ Karate activities, baseball, and football teams.
Naus is survived by his wife, Danielle, and their two children, Christian and Kai who were born in March 2003 and Jan. 2006, respectively, his mother Belinda Naus, of Illinois, sister Linda Naus, of Oklahoma, and brother Rich Naus.
A Celebration of Life will be held 10 a.m. - 2 p.m., Sunday, June 8, Tenaya Lodge in Fish Camp.
