Long-time Coarsegold resident Pat Brandon died May 22, 2014 at the age of 82.
He was born June 10, 1931, the only child of Elferd and Mauvaline Tackett Brandon.
Mr. Brandon migrated to California in 1963 and first settled in the Bay Area. He attended Contra Costa Jr. College for a time and also served four years in the U.S. Army Air Force.
He was trained as an electrician and mechanic, and after completing his Air Force service, he relocated to Fresno in 1968, where he became an electrical inspector for the city, and later began his own business, Brandon Electric Company.
Following his retirement in 1990, he and his wife, Pepper, moved to the Mountain Area.
Mr. Brandon’s hobbies included fishing, camping, boating, RV’ing with his wife and friends, and tinkering with anything requiring mechanical attention.
He was preceded in death by sons Rick and Mark Brandon.
He is survived by his wife; son Pat Jr (and Kathy) of Suisun; daughter Susan of Auburn; two stepsons—Rick (and Joann) Whitlow of La Crescenta, and Kurt (and Janice) Whitlow of Clovis; 14 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; and his dog, Blake.
A celebration of his life will be held 2 p.m., Sunday, June 1, at the home of his step-son, Kurt Whitlow. Contact Rick Whitlow at (818) 249-4862 if you plan to attend. Internment will be held at the San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery for Veterans in Santa Nella.
