Ryan Leland Prosser, of Oakhurst, died March 30 in Coarsegold. Prosser was born in Santa Clara, Calif. in 1976, and spent his early life in the Coyote Creek neighborhood of San Jose, where he met many of his lifelong friends.
After residing in the Bay Area through young adulthood, he moved to Oakhurst to be with his parents, and there he created a large community of close friends. Prosser loved outdoor activities including surfing, hiking, camping and exploring. And he especially loved reggae music.
He had a captivating spirit that drew people to him. He often found special ways to connect with others, like playing a song to comfort friends during hard times.
Prosser, 41, is survived by his daughter Mary, 23, and son Logan, 15.
He now joins his mother JoAnn in spirit, who preceded him in death.
In lieu of remembrances, a Go Fund Me page has been set up to help Ryan's daughter Mary with funeral expenses. https://www.gofundme.com/ryan-prosser039s-funeral-fund.
