Emily Renee McDougald died Jan. 5, 2018 at the age of 17. She was born March 17, 2000 in Clovis to Steven and Tammy.
She grew up in O’Neals, was a senior at Minarets High School and the president of Spring Valley 4-H. She was active in 4-H for 10 years, where she excelled at shooting sports. She loved her goats and arts and crafts projects, and all animals, especially dogs and Frankie, the bearded dragon.
Miss McDougald enjoyed being outdoors, the ocean and had an eye for nature photography. She was one of the youngest members of the Madera Camera Club, was a voracious reader and loved books by Stephen King. She enjoyed music, especially classic rock and metal, and looked forward to collecting vinyl to play on her new turntable.
She was preceded in death by her grandfather Jim, and uncle David.
Miss McDougald is survived by her parents; her sister Kari; grandparents, Ed and Jan Armbruster and Steven and Pauline Emmert; great-grandmothers, Betty Fearn and Lou Emmert; aunts and uncles, and many cousins.
A memorial service will be held 1 p.m., Jan. 18, 2018 at Jay Chapel in Madera with a reception to follow.
