Jerold LaVerne Ocheltree died July 14, 2017 at the age of 87. He was born Aug. 21, 1929 in Long Beach to Paul and Havel.
A Nipinnawasee resident, he worked in diversified farming in Madera and Fresno, cattle ranching in Burrough Valley in the Sierra Nevada foothills, as a distributor for O’s Gold Seed Company, in insurance and also held a real estate license.
Mr. Ocheltree was active on the board for Youth for Christ, and helped found YFC in Fresno, and was also active in area church organizations. He enjoyed spending time with family boating, skiing, horseback riding and swimming.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Janice; children Gayle of Burbank, Marilyn Moore and husband Charles of Yuba City, Steven and wife Carolyn of Fresno and Larry and wife Renee of Huntersville, North Carolina; 12 grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 10 a.m., Aug. 5, at Stephens & Bean Funeral Chapel (202 N. Teilman, Fresno). Interment will be held at Belmont Memorial Park in Fresno.
