Mountain Home School Charter and Glacier High School Charter are queued up and ready to go with you on your next great learning adventure. This is the 14th year Glacier High School Charter will provide high quality educational options and opportunities to students and families in the mountain area. This is the 22nd year for Mountain Home School Charter.
We are growing and want to welcome four new teachers to our programs. April Hill, Susan Nobles, Joyce Vind and Laura Scott. Each of these teachers will be working directly with students as well as parents, like coaches, helping support their homeschooling. They bring loads of expertise to our instructional team as well as their own personal experience as homeschooling parents.
Mindy Klang is the principal of the whole Mountain Home and Glacier program in Oakhurst.
Last year we opened a 6,000 square foot learning resource center in Fresno with a staff of six teachers and an administrator. We have experienced enormous demand for our schools in Fresno.
This year we will serve approximately 200 students with their families from our new resource center. To accommodate the additional students we have hired two more teachers: Grace Reeve and Christine Karr.
Eric Hagen is the principal of the Mountain Home and Glacier program in Fresno. At both locations, Oakhurst and Fresno, we will be offering a wide selection of seminar style classes for Kindergarten through twelfth grade. These include many different options in math, English composition, chemistry, biology, physics, a variety of art options, various robotics, ASL and choir.
Finally, Glacier has had a long relationship with the Oakhurst Community College. This has allowed our students to enroll in college courses and earn both college and high school credit. This program has provided a tremendous benefit to numerous Glacier students over the years.
In fact, many of our students graduate high school with at least one year of college already completed. Think of the time and money saved.
We are excited to announce that this “dual enrollment” program is going to be expanding in the coming year. Students will be able to take more college classes and start those classes earlier in their high school career.
