Thinking of home schooling? Mountain Home School Charter looking for students

The Mountain Home School Charter in Oakhurst is registering students for its 2018-2019 school year ahead of its first day of school on Thursday, Aug. 16.

If anyone is interested in registering a student between the grade levels of kindergarten and eighth grade, you can reach the school via phone at 559-642-1422. For more information on the school, you can visit its website.

The school, one of two operated by Western Sierra Charter Schools, has been facilitating the homeschooling of students in eastern Madera County since its inception in 1994.

Last year, Mountain Home School Charter and Glacier High School Charter – the other of Western Sierra Charter Schools – combined for a total of 450 students. When the schools opened in 1994, they started with a combined 40 students.
