Yosemite High gets new football coach, music director

Yosemite High has a new football coach and a new music director.

Yosemite Unified School District announced May 11 that Chance Sigala is the new football coach and Megan Rice is the new music director.

Sigala replaces JD Burnett, who left for McLane High in Fresno after three seasons leading a Badgers’ turnaround including last year’s undefeated regular season.

Sigala graduated from Clovis High in 2007 and played offensive line in college at Nevada, Fresno City College and his final two seasons at West Alabama in NCAA Division II.

Rice will serve as the district’s choral and instrumental music director after doing student teaching at Casa Grande High in Petaluma. She’s a graduate of Sonoma State. She replaces Francisco Marquez.

Both are expected to begin working with Yosemite High students this spring.
