Two Fresno visitors behind bars facing host of felony charges

Two Fresno men remain jailed after deputies discover stolen property stashed in a motel room.

Yesterday Deputies arrested 19-year-old Cody Ratledge and 27-year-old Lorenzo Leon – who claim to reside at the same address in Fresno – following nearly a week’s stay at a Mountain Inn located in Oakhurst.

Both are facing a host of felony charges, not the least of which include, burglary, credit card fraud, identity theft, forgery, and possession of methamphetamine for sales. Late last week, the pair reportedly rented two rooms -- 136 and 137 – and on Sunday checked out of room 136, keeping only 137. Motel personnel discovered the empty room in shambles. The immediate concern, the lock on the door between both rooms had been destroyed.

Evidence left behind in room 137 led deputies to the adjoining room where they found a number of stolen items related to previous theft reports and auto burglaries, as well as Methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.

Ratledge’s preferred libations, marijuana and Meth, remains jailed for burglary and possession of stolen property, with bail set at $30,000.

Leon’s intoxicating choices include Alcohol and Meth. He remains jailed for transporting a controlled substance for sales and possession of a controlled substance. His bail set at $10,000.

The case remains under investigation. Anyone with information about these Fresno men is urged to call the Madera County Sheriff’s Office at 498-STOP or CRIME STOPPERS at 498-STOP. Anonymous tips can also be made through the Valley Crime Stoppers website at
