Former Yosemite Bank manager pleads guilty in embezzlement case

Former Yosemite Bank manager Donald Eaves pleaded guilty to four counts of grand theft Thursday, June 14, 2018 at the Bass Lake, California, courthouse. Eaves, 53, of Coarsegold initially faced 32 counts of grand theft and embezzlement, but after a plea agreement he pleaded guilty to four counts. He also is expected to pay $115,000 in restitution to Premier Valley Bank.

Mariposa man booked in death of his 22-month-old son

A Mariposa CA man was booked Thursday on manslaughter charges in the death of his 22-month-old son. Jesse Ashton, 21, is being held on $50,000 bail. The Mariposa County Sheriff's Office said Ashton called 911 on Saturday to report the baby was having a seizure.

Two arrested in Bass Lake home invasion

Two North Fork residents, Ray Coleman, 23, and Alvin McDonald III, 18, were arrested last week as alleged suspects in the Nov. 18 violent home invasion robbery that led to a 77-year-old woman being pistol-whipped with her own gun in her home near Bass Lake.
