Minarets High School’s baseball team is running away with the West Sequoia League title, boasting an 8-0 record against their league opponents.

Their undefeated record has them three games ahead of second place Fowler.

The Mustangs have proven to be both a strong offensive and defensive team, scoring 147 runs on the season while only allowing 39. The 39 runs allowed are the lowest in the league by a margin of 20.

Last weekend, Minarets participated in the Fowler Easter Baseball Classic tournament. The Mustangs started off strong, holding Liberty to zero runs and hits in their first game on April 13.

But team’s victory over Liberty was the only one of the tournament, losing the other three matchups.

The team will play at Parlier on Tuesday, its first of final three league games, looking to lock up the WSL title that only barely eluded them last season when they finished second to Fowler.
