An armored truck overturned and fell down an embankment near Oakhurst on Monday, leaving two Fresno men injured, the California Highway Patrol reported.

The collision was called in at around 11 a.m.

The driver of the International truck, Ignacio Iniguez, 34, and passenger Paul Perez, 49, were traveling south on Highway 41 just north of Cedar Valley Drive. The truck veered off the right shoulder and swerved left, causing it to overturn and fall down the embankment.

Both Iniguez and Perez were able to make their way out of the truck. Both suffered moderate injuries and were transported to Community Regional Medical Center, Fresno.

The truck was owned by Loomis, a cash management service. No money spilled out of the truck, according to CHP.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
