The Madera County Sheriff’s Office received 61 calls during the week of Mar. 25-31. Below is a sampling of those calls for the Mountain Area.
☆ Mar. 25: A deputy was dispatched to the 46000 block of Lucky Lane for a welfare check on a subject acting strange inside the casino. Upon arrival an investigation was conducted and the subject was found to have three outstanding warrants for his arrest. Subject was taken into custody.
☆ Mar. 26: A deputy was dispatched to the 28000 block of Gray Squirrel Court regarding a subject committing a lewd act in a public place in front of a child. An investigation was conducted and a suspect was identified by the victim. Case forward to Madera County District Attorney's Office for review of charges.
☆ Mar. 30: Deputies responded to the 33000 block of Little John Drive regarding a family disturbance. While en-route deputies received more information that the disturbance had turned into a shooting. Deputies arrived and found two victims with gunshot wounds, one of which was deceased. The suspect was on scene and taken into custody. The investigation is ongoing.
☆ Mar. 31: Deputies responded to the 31000 block of Road 400 in regards to a dispute between neighbors. A male subject was contacted and found to have a felony warrant out of Madera County. The male subject was arrested.
☆ April 1: A deputy was dispatched to the 46000 block of Lucky Lane in regards to found property. A glass pipe used to ingest methamphetamine was collected and later booked into property for destruction. A report was written for documentation.
☆ Mar. 26: A deputy was dispatched to the 40000 block of Highway 49 regarding two elderly subjects with dementia who were in a physical altercation. A report taken for documentation purposes only.
☆ Mar. 26: A deputy was dispatched to a business located within the 40000 block of Highway 41 regarding a report of a disturbance. During the investigation it was determined an assault occurred between the owners of two adjacent businesses. One of the parties involved complained of pain as a result of the altercation but declined medical attention. All parties declined to seek prosecution against the other.
☆ Mar. 31: A deputy took a telephonic report of a vehicle burglary that occurred in the area of Lewis Creek Trail. A report was taken and follow up conducting attempting to ID a suspect.
☆ Mar. 28: Deputies were dispatched to the 57000 block of Road 225 in regards to a stolen vehicle report. Two male subjects were located on the property. Through investigation it was discovered the male subjects stole the vehicle and then returned it a few days later. The suspects were positively identified by a witness. Both males were arrested.
