The Madera County Sheriff’s Office received 50 calls during the week of Dec. 25-31. Below is a sampling of these calls:
☆ Dec. 25: Report of a sexual assault on Road 200. Statements were collected and the suspect was arrested and booked into Madera County Department of Corrections.
☆ Dec. 26: Deputies were dispatched to the 40000 block of Highway 41 regarding a theft from a business. The store owner was contacted and a report written for documentation.
☆ Dec. 27: Deputies conducted a subject check at the 40000 block of Highway 41 at the EZ Mart. Subject was found to have two misdemeanor warrants and to be in possession of methamphetamine. He was arrested and transported to Madera DOC without incident. Refer to Madera Probation for information and to DA’s office for charges filed.
☆ Dec. 27: Contacted a subject near Highway 41 and Civic Circle who was in possession of alcohol at the Oakhurst Park. He was cited and released. Forward to DA’s office for charges filed.
☆ Dec. 27: Dispatched to the 49000 block of River Park Road regarding a burglary to a vehicle. Several items were taken and the owner of the vehicle requested a report for documentation. Refer to detectives for follow up.
☆ Dec. 30: Deputy was dispatched to the 32000 block of Mudge Ranch Road regarding a commercial burglary.
☆ Dec. 27: Report of subjects fighting in the 28000 block of Highway 41. Subject contacted, a case number generated. The male subject was later turned over to CHP Officers for a DUI investigation.
☆ Dec. 28: Possible assault involving juveniles in the 43000 block of Highway 49. Deputies contacted all involved parties. A report was written for documentation and forwarded to Juvenile Probation for review.
☆ Dec. 31: Deputies responded to the area of the 25000 block of Road 211 to assist CHP in a stolen vehicle crash, where the suspect fled from the scene. Suspect was later located and apprehended by sheriff’s canine unit. Suspect was medically cleared at Madera Community Hospital and transported to Madera Department of Corrections by CHP.
