John C. Fremont Hospital will hold a meeting 1:30 - 3 p.m., June 2, to provide information on becoming a nursing assistant, as well as the training program and criteria for certification. The meeting will be held in the administration building, located in the back parking lot of the hospital.
The Nursing Assistant Training Program runs July 10 - Sept. 1, with the application submittal deadline June 12.
Trainees are paid $10.50 per hour during this on-the-job training program. Upon successfully completing the program and passing the state’s nursing assistant exam, trainees will be retained as a hospital employee, earning the Certified Nursing Assistants Level 1 pay of $11.62 hourly.
Books, uniform, equipment and test fees are provided. Those applying for this program must be 18 years of age by July 10, have graduated high school or have a GED, meet the state’s criteria, and pass a background check, drug and alcohol testing and physical.
