Oakhurst-based pizza franchise Pizza Factory was named among the “Top 200 Food & Restaurant Franchises of 2018” by Entrepreneur magazine.
In a June article, the magazine ranked Pizza Factory 11th out of 25 listed pizza franchises. The magazine’s rankings were based on its Franchise 500 formula, which takes into account “costs and fees, size and growth, franchisee support, brand strength and financial strength and stability.”
The 200 franchises were split into 13 separate food categories, including hamburgers, baked goods, Asian food and sandwiches.
“We’re honored to be named to this list amongst other highly recognized franchises,” said Mary Jane Riva, president and CEO of Pizza Factory. “Being named to this list solidifies our reputation in the industry. We are excited to build off this momentum and continue to elevate the franchise as a whole in the years to come.”
The franchise is about 30 years old and has 108 locations across the country, with the original located in Oakhurst. According to Pizza Factory, the franchise specializes in “pizza, sandwiches, salads and more.”
To open up a Pizza Factory location, the cost ranges between $156,000 and $643,500, according to Entrepreneur.
