One injured in Bass Lake jet ski collision

The collision of two jet skies on Bass Lake at about 1:30 p.m. Saturday sent one male with moderate injuries to Saint Agnes Hospital via the SkyLife I helicopter.

According to Madera County Sheriff Office Public Information Officer Cmdr. Bill Ward, the accident happened near the Pine Slope day use area, about a quarter mile east of The Forks Resort.

First responders placed the victim on a backboard while still in the water before placing him in a boat that took him to the The Forks dock. From there he was transported to the helicopter that had landed at a clearing at the west end of the lake.

The accident victim, not identified at this time, suffered rib and leg injuries.

The driver of the second jet ski escaped injury.
