Tickets are now on sale for “Beauty and the Buccaneer,” an original swashbuckling pirate adventure with a fairytale twist.
Written and directed by Heather Sconce, the Fourth Annual dinner-theater production at Sierra Pines Church, which combines the classic tale of Beauty and the Beast with pirates, opens a three-night run at 6 p.m., May 27, with a cast of 23.
The lead roles are played by Brandon Mallard, who played Scrooge in A Christmas Carol, as Beast Beard the Pirate and Bree Rose Stephens as Pearl.
Bill Marrone who played Christmas Present in “It’s a Wonderful Life,” plays Tick Tock the pirate.
“I am blessed to have these two leads in my show,” Sconce said. “They have amazing stage chemistry and incredible comic timing as well. A few other familiar faces are Matt Van De Wal, who is playing Gaspard, who is the egotistical, muscle-bound lug who has his eyes set on marrying Pearl, and Robert Britt as Fouey, his hilarious side kick.”
Sconce said she is humbled and excited to see her fourth dinner theater she has written come to life on stage.
“This amazing cast has blessed my socks off and I couldn’t be more proud of this production,” Sconce said. “The next best thing is to have an audience come now and see these actors in action. People will leave with a smile on their face and a belly full of delicious food.”
The dinner menu includes swashbuckle salad, pirate pasta with Italian sausage, and ice cream for dessert.
Craig Friesen of Friesen Construction and Matt Van De Wal created the set, including a pirate ship.
Proceeds from the show goes to the youth groups at Sierra Pines to help with summer trips and mission trips.
