Single vehicle rolls over on Highway 41, car collides with deer shortly north of wreck

Traffic northbound on Highway 41 near Road 417 was slowed down Tuesday morning when a silver 2000 Honda Accord rolled over and blocked a lane.

Around 8 a.m., driver James Mierkey and passengers Jennifer and daughter Lyric Piccolotti, all known for their roles in productions at the Golden Chain Theatre in Oakhurst, managed to get out of the overturned vehicle after the crash. All three were shaken up by the wreck, and minor injuries were reported, but each said they were okay.

California Highway Patrol officers said it was likely due to driver exhaustion that the car rolled over. No drugs or alcohol were suspected in the crash, and the vehicle was towed around 8:40 a.m. with traffic cleared.

In an unrelated incident around the same time, and about a half mile north from the wreck on Highway 41, Nachhatar “Nat” Sangha, who recently opened a Deli Delicious in Oakhurst, collided with a deer in his black Toyota Prius.

Sangha, alone in the car, was uninjured though his vehicle’s front end was destroyed. The car was towed from the area.
