Mother and young daughter sent to hospital after rear ended by county employee

A woman and her three-month old daughter were sent to St. Agnes Medical Center in Fresno Monday morning after a Madera County Public Works employee rear ended her, at around 50 mph, while she was making a left turn onto Dorstan Drive from Road 222.

The county employee appeared uninjured as he collected equipment from the white Ford F250 truck, while the woman, driving a white Kia Sportage SUV, suffered minor injuries and complained of pain from the wreck. Both vehicles were totaled and towed from the scene. The crash happened around 8 a.m.

No alcohol or drugs were suspected, CHP officers said. The cause of the wreck remained under investigation.
