A new month-long exhibit of textile art opened March 1 at Oakhurst’s Timberline Art Gallery, 40982 Highway 41.
A number of gallery members as well as special guest artists are participating in the show, the first of several exhibitions that will be coming to the gallery over the next four-to-five months.
Three guest artists are participating in the exhibit - internationally-known Coarsegold quilt artist Lura Schwarz-Smith, doll (spirit figures) creator Julie Mitchell of Coarsegold, and mixed media fiber artist Kris Kessey.
A number of Timberline Gallery members will also be showing their work in the textile exhibit that runs through the end of March, including pine needle basket artist Carol Wagner.
Upcoming exhibits will feature a variety of art mediums including wood, glass, and jewelry. Other future shows will benefit the Children’s Museum of the Sierra, and the Eastern Madera County SPCA.
Details: The gallery is open seven days a week, 10 a.m. - 4 p.m., (559) 683-3345.
