Tickets are now on sale for the March 5 German Fest sponsored by the Oakhurst Area Chamber of Commerce.
The 4th annual event, held at the Oakhurst Community Center, features an authentic four-course German-style dinner prepared by chefs from Yosemite Gateway Restaurant in Oakhurst.
The dinner, at $30 per person, includes Bratwurst and Knockwurst sausage, DeutschesBrot (German bread), Gurkensalat (cucumber salad), Graupeneintopf (barley stew), sauerkraut, Rotkohl (German style cooked red cabbage), Kartoffel Kasserole (potato casserole), and Apfelstrudel (apple strudel).
A German band will perform at the event for a fun-filled evening.
A raffle, including a large flat-screen television sponsored by Yosemite Bank and Sierra Asset Management, will be held during the evening.
“In addition to the food, this special-themed event will feature German beers and wines available at the no-host bar,” said Joelle Leder, executive director of the Oakhurst Area Chamber of Commerce.
“German Fest committee chairman Dan Rule, of Sierra Tel, along with the German Fest Committee has been working very hard to make this a unique, one-of-a-kind event for our community and the chamber,” Leder added.
The doors will open at 6 p.m., dinner begins at 7 p.m., and the raffle is scheduled to begin at 8 p.m.
Platinum sponsors of the event are Sullivan’s Tire Pros, Vulcan Materials Company, and Sierra Tel. Bronze sponsors are Yosemite Bank, Supreme Lending, Ameriprise Financial Nemeth & Petrushkin, and the Sierra Star.
Tickets are available at the chamber of commerce office, 40343 Highway 41, or online at 2016germanfest.eventbrite.com. Chamber officials encourage the public to purchase tickets as soon as possible, as the event has sold out the previous three years.
