A Los Banos man is in jail after he and at least three other men allegedly tied up a Mariposa family, including three juveniles, while brandishing firearms in order to steal marijuana, cash, and guns.
Buddy Dustin, 25, is in custody on $100,000 bail after he was tracked down by the Los Banos Police Department through a BOL - Be on the Lookout - initiated by the Mariposa County Sheriff’s Office.
On Dec. 22, around 8:45 a.m. the office received a 911 call from a residence in the Mount Bullion area.
The caller reported a suspected four men, including Dustin, allegedly entered their home brandishing a shotgun and handgun, then tied up the five occupants.
They then allegedly stole more than 25 pounds of processed marijuana as well as money and firearms.
It appeared the robbery was not a random act, as Dustin previously lived with the family inside the home.
The incident remains under investigation, with additional search warrants to be issued as part of pursuing the remaining suspects.
Dustin is held in the Mariposa County Adult Detention Facility on felony charges of robbery in the first degree, kidnapping, robbery, and first degree burglary.
